I'm The Quirky Cook and I've been making and perfecting foods professionally since 2008.
All my delicious products are handmade using good old-fashioned, traditional processes. This is done in my home kitchen here in the glorious county of Derbyshire. Artificial flavours, colours and preservatives are forbidden and allergens are few. They are suitable for vegans and most are wheat and gluten-free.
Traditional Piccalilli and Chilli Piccalilli have always been my best-sellers. In 2015, I presented them to Marco Pierre-White at his Nottingham restaurant. After tasting them, he wrote "beautiful, with respect" and then in a signed copy of his book, he added "Kay, you are the best"....well, you would struggle to find a more fitting testimonial than that, wouldn't you?
In 2016, I launched The Black Garlic Collection - a range of unique, innovative chutneys and relishes, with a sensory experience. I am proud to say that I am the first UK food producer to use Black Garlic ingredients in this type of product category. Further recipe development is currently taking shape which will soon see the addition of a range of ketchups and sauces to compliment my collection. Exciting times ahead!
